Bořek Šípek for LOVELILI

It’s no secret that our brand origins were born in China. I met the world-famous architect and designer Bořek Šípek there. I asked him to design a handbag for my then fledgling brand. Imagine that he was such a humble and modest person that he even thanked me for the opportunity to try something new. Although we had agreed on one handbag design, Bořek came up with three. All of them were so interesting that we decided to make limited editions of them.

It wouldn’t be like him if he didn’t come up with something shocking with a distinctive style, as was the case with his architectural and glass works. Although I never saw him dressed in any colour other than black, his work is fundamentally about colours and crazy shapes, simply striking. One can tell at first glance that it is the work of Bořek Šípek.

 

 

In my opinion, Bořek was more appreciated abroad than in his homeland. He was very fond of Asian culture. I consider our meeting to be fateful and I’m very grateful for it. Only now, after more than seven years, have I decided to offer several pieces of these two models for sale. Each handbag has an engraved number, which can also be found on the included collector’s certificate.
